
Mass Effect 2 spans two discs on both PC and Xbox 360. If you purchased the Collectors° Edition, there is a third DVD disc containing all the bonus content.
Mass Effect 2 will require a unique CD key to install on PC, and then you must have the disc in the tray to play the game. Additionally if you registered for the Cerberus Network, you must have an EA account to register your game too. If you purchased the digital version on PC, you will be able to install the game 5 times.
Included in each copy of Mass Effect 2 for both PC (digital and box) and X360 there is a Cerberus Network card with a unique single-use activation code. From the Mass Effect 2 main menu in game, follow the instructions to register your code with the Cerberus Network. Once you are a member you will gain access to FREE additional content. Currently we have announced Zaeed, the deadly bounty hunter, the Cerberus Assault Gear, and a bonus N7 mission with more content on the way. Cerberus Network codes can be purchased separately as well. Follow the instructions from the Mass Effect 2 main menu for more information.
Yes, there will be additional content outside of the Cerberus Network as well. We have not announced specifics of this content through. More information will come in the future.
If you played Mass Effect 1, and kept your save game files, you will be able to continue your progress in Mass Effect 2. You will be able to select the import on a by career basis. From the main menu, start a new game then choose to Import ME1 character. The save game import utility will walk you through the rest, including giving you basic information on the save file. For example, did you save the council, did Wrex survive, what was your character level, and more. On PC there is a Configuration Utility that will help you locate and import your ME1 save games. On Xbox 360 all you need is the gamer profile and save games to get started.

The decisions, actions, and plot states you created in Mass Effect 1 will persist in Mass Effect 2. Additionally other factors such as your character level will grant you certain bonuses as well. If you acquired a high level of currency you will start Mass Effect 2 with a small boost to your starting income. Additionally if you completed the game as a paragon or renegade, a fraction of that alignment will persist into Mass Effect 2. This is designed to help give players to went the extra mile in Mass Effect 1 a quantitative boost in Mass Effect 2.
Not exactly. If you reached level 49, you will receive a set of bonuses if you reached 59 you receive more, and 60 you receive the maximum perks.
This is not the case. The easiest way to determine if your save will import into Mass Effect 2 is to open Mass Effect 1, go into the New Game Plus menu. If you see the save you want to be able to import into Mass Effect 2 in that list you are set.
Your saves must exist on the original device used to create the saves, the career and your gamer profile.
Absolutely, upon completion of Mass Effect 2 you are returned to the Normandy and welcome to explore the galaxy and complete additional missions.
Nope. Once you complete Mass Effect 2, you can start a new game and import your ME2 Commander Shepard, much the way you did your ME1 character and play through again. Your level, weapons, armor, upgrades, currency, and codex entries will carry over.
Absolutely. Mass Effect is a planned trilogy and you will be able to import your progress into Mass Effect 3.
Make sure to create an account on the BioWare Social website (http://social.bioware.com). Using your EA account you will be able to redeem codes on the website. At that point you will download the content and install it. The next time you play Mass Effect 2 check your personal terminal on the Normandy for information on where to find your content.
That depends on if they survived your playthrough on ME1! When you import your save all the difficult decisions, including who to sacrifice on Virmire will carry over. That being said, if they survived they will be making a return in some form or another in Mass Effect 2. We have already announced Tali°Zorah°s return as a squad-mate. The rest we don°t want to spoil for you.
We wouldn°t call it a suicide mission if it couldn°t happen! Based on your actions if you don°t prepare adequately for the final mission, Shepard and any number of squad mates could be killed in action.
At this point we don°t want to spoil the romantic interests for you. Those are for you to explore. That being said, we are confirming romance options in Mass Effect 2 for Commander Shepard.
Yes. Mass Effect 1 featured 4 basic weapon types. Mass Effect 2 will feature no less than 19 different weapon types out of the box. Additionally we are introducing heavy weapons. Check out the Arsenal section of the website for a look at some of the powerful new weapons you will be able to wield.
The same six class will be returning in Mass Effect 2. The Soldier, Vanguard, Adept, Sentinel, Engineer, and Infiltrator. However, each class has new powers and abilities including class unique powers. Check out the Universe section of our website for a breakdown of the six classes including videos.
Yes, all player classes will be able to hack and bypass locks, secturity, etc. You will no longer need to bring a tech class with you.
